Once Upon a Time in Wareham
On a perfect summer afternoon, Wareham Quay comes alive along the gentle River Frome in Dorset. Once Upon a Time in Wareham captures this timeless, sun-soaked moment — a celebration of place, people, and lazy days by the water.
The familiar row of historic buildings glows in the light: the welcoming Quay Inn, the charming Quayside Barn, and the proud Old Granary with its riverside pub sign. A sailboat rests against the stone quay, a hot air balloon drifts overhead, and the river itself is a playground — swimmers glide through the cool water, swans drift among them, and dogs perch happily on boat decks.
The scene is filled with life: locals I photographed on the quay mingle with characters from my earlier paintings. Laughter, conversation, and the gentle lap of water fill the air. Tucked somewhere in the crowd, with a quiet smile, you’ll even find me.
Blending oil painting, original photography, and digital artistry, this limited edition giclée print preserves the warmth of a single enchanted Dorset day — part real, part dream, and entirely inviting.
Come linger on the quay… perhaps you’ll spot yourself among the happy crowd.
