A little about me

I began my career as a professional photographer, running my own small business across Oxfordshire, the county where I was born and raised. Specialising in family portraits and commercial photography, I spent 25 rewarding years building a strong reputation throughout the region.

In my late forties, I felt a growing desire for something more meaningful and purposeful. This led me to write and publish two time-travel adventure novels, which allowed me to explore my creative side more deeply. Around the same time, I discovered digital art and began experimenting with it and selling art.

It was during this period that I also founded The Oxfordshire Project – a business network dedicated to supporting small businesses across the county and charities both at home and abroad. Over the following ten years, the network grew significantly, hosting more than 800 events and helping countless business owners connect, grow, and thrive.

Alongside The Oxfordshire Project, I created Mahwe – a personal development community that took the best elements of the business network (inspiring events, excellent speakers, and genuine community building) but removed the business focus. This opened the door to a much wider audience. Mahwe was in its second year when the pandemic hit the UK. My events came to an abrupt end, partly due to lockdown restrictions, but also because I fell seriously ill with Covid. The experience drained my energy and forced me to completely rethink my busy life.

Recovery took more than a year and transformed everything. I became a nomad, spending two years travelling across Britain. During this time, I regained my fitness, embraced meditation, and wrote my third book, The Journey to the Edge of Reality.

As I journeyed across the country, I photographed landscapes and taught myself to paint. It was during this nomadic chapter that I met my partner, Marisa, on the Suffolk-Essex border. A former gallery owner, Marisa encouraged me to pursue a career as a full-time artist. I settled with her in East Anglia, where I soon moved from acrylics to oils. I began exhibiting my work in Suffolk, Essex, and Oxfordshire, gradually discovering my own distinctive style.

I started combining my photography with painting to create dreamlike, atmospheric scenes – a technique that quickly proved popular. A significant boost came when my favourite gallery back home, Burford Garden Company, accepted my work. That moment gave me the belief to continue and fully commit to this new artistic path.

During my travels across Britain, I also met Gregg Masuak, a Canadian director and producer based in Los Angeles. Gregg had read my latest book and suggested adapting my three novels into a television series. In 2025, I embraced this exciting new challenge and spent time in the Highlands of Scotland writing a screenplay for a ten-part series that weaves the three books into one cohesive story – my own journey told through my characters. We continue to develop this project together.
