The Little Boat
of Manningtree

‘Manningtree’

The Estuary

Land reclaimed from the sea,

Calm waters stretch beneath the cloudy sky,

Cool breezes whisper from the shore,

A little boat rests, gently swaying,

Nature’s haven, tranquil and pure.

Seabirds wheel in salt-kissed air,

Dog walkers stroll along the path,

The moody sky, a shifting canvas,

Seaweed clings, jellyfish stranded,

Ocean’s fragrance drifts on land.

The distant echo of a seagull’s cry,

An old man stands, gazing aloft,

Manningtree, a quaint seaside town,

Set where the east coast meets the sky.
