The Estuary
I slip slightly; the hillside is steep, and the weight of the camera hangs heavily around my neck. My hand instinctively finds the ground, narrowly avoiding a small patch of stinging nettles. As I steady myself, the shot comes into focus—clearer and more exquisite than I had anticipated. It’s stunning.
Wiping the sweat from my brow after the long, hot walk, I take a satisfying sip from my water bottle—the cool liquid is delicious and refreshing, a welcome reprieve from the heat. I adjust the camera settings, keen to capture the rich foliage that elegantly frames the scene in as much detail as possible.
The scent of the sea air fills my lungs as I gaze out towards the horizon, allowing myself to admire the breathtaking view. I take a moment to wait for the perfect shot. Click, click, click—the sound of the shutter captures the essence of this idyllic moment. I have it. As I lower the camera, I can’t help but think to myself, "One day, I will paint this."
