The Golden Path Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions explain how The Golden Path Personal Introductions service operates and the basis on which I provide my services.

The Golden Path is operated by Ben Molyneux as a sole trader.

By joining The Little Black Book or purchasing a paid Golden Path service, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. The Golden Path

The Golden Path is a personally run introduction service.

I get to know people individually and consider whether there may be someone I believe they would be interested in meeting.

There are no public member profiles and members do not browse or contact other members through The Golden Path.

The Golden Path provides opportunities for introductions. It does not guarantee that an introduction will be made or that any introduction will lead to dating, friendship, a relationship or any other particular outcome.

2. Who can join

You must be aged 18 or over to join The Golden Path.

You must provide information that is honest and accurate to the best of your knowledge.

You should tell me if information relevant to your participation changes, particularly if you are no longer available for introductions.

I may decide that The Golden Path is not an appropriate service for someone where I reasonably believe that I am unlikely to be able to provide a suitable service, or where there are legitimate concerns about safety, honesty, conduct or the interests of other members.

The Golden Path does not guarantee acceptance into The Little Black Book or a paid search service.

3. The Little Black Book

Membership of The Little Black Book is currently free.

Joining means that I may consider you for an introduction if I meet or work with somebody whom I believe you may be interested in meeting.

There is no guarantee that you will receive an introduction.

You are under no obligation to accept an introduction that I suggest.

The Little Black Book is private. It is not a public directory and other members cannot browse it.

You may ask to leave The Little Black Book at any time.

4. Personal Search

Personal Search is currently £79 per month.

It includes the services described on The Golden Path website at the time you join, including a personal consultation and active consideration of potential introductions.

Payment means that I will actively spend time considering and looking for potential introductions on your behalf.

It does not purchase a guaranteed number of introductions and does not guarantee that a suitable person will be found within any particular period.

Any potential introduction must also be something I believe is reasonable and worthwhile for the other person involved.

5. Dedicated Search

Dedicated Search is currently £249 per month.

It includes everything provided through Personal Search together with a greater level of proactive search, time, attention and personal support.

This may include looking beyond The Little Black Book and my existing network, seeking referrals, approaching potential contacts, research, targeted outreach or advertising where appropriate.

Dedicated Search may also include personal conversations, guidance and feedback relating to your dating experiences, introductions and what you are looking for.

This guidance is personal support and perspective. It is not therapy, counselling, medical advice or another regulated professional service.

Dedicated Search does not guarantee a particular number of introductions or a particular outcome.

6. Advertising and additional expenditure

Where I believe paid advertising or another service involving additional expenditure may materially help a Dedicated Search, I will discuss this with you before incurring any cost that I expect you to pay.

You will not be charged additional advertising or third-party search costs without your agreement.

7. Payment

Paid services are currently invoiced monthly.

The price and payment date will be shown on your invoice.

Unless otherwise agreed, payment must be received before the relevant paid service period begins.

There is no long-term commitment unless we specifically agree one separately.

If an invoice remains unpaid, I may pause the paid search service until payment is received.

8. Monthly services and cancellation

Personal Search and Dedicated Search operate on a monthly basis.

You may tell me that you do not wish to continue before your next monthly service period begins. No further monthly payment will then be due.

If you cancel during a month that has already been paid for, I will normally continue providing the service until the end of that paid period unless we agree otherwise or you ask me to stop sooner.

Nothing in these terms affects any cancellation or refund rights you have under consumer law.

9. Your 14-day cancellation rights

Where you purchase a paid service online, by telephone or otherwise at a distance, you may have a legal right to cancel the contract within 14 days without giving a reason.

If you ask me to begin providing the service during that 14-day cancellation period, I may ask you to expressly confirm that you would like the service to begin immediately.

If you subsequently exercise a legal right to cancel after asking me to begin work during the cancellation period, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services already provided, where the law permits this.

I will not seek to restrict any statutory cancellation rights available to you.

10. Introductions

An introduction is always discretionary and mutual.

Paying for Personal Search or Dedicated Search does not give you access to another person’s details or create an entitlement to meet another member.

Before making an introduction, I consider whether I believe there is a reasonable basis for the two people to meet.

Both people remain free to decline.

I may decide not to make an introduction where I reasonably believe it would be inappropriate, unwelcome or inconsistent with the interests of either person.

11. Identity verification

I may require identity verification before an introduction takes place.

The verification process may change as The Golden Path develops and may involve a third-party identity verification provider.

Completing identity verification helps reduce risk but cannot guarantee that a person is honest in every respect or that information they have provided about their circumstances is complete.

You remain responsible for exercising normal judgement and care when meeting or communicating with another person.

12. Honesty and conduct

The Golden Path relies heavily on trust.

You agree not to knowingly provide materially false or misleading information about yourself, including information relevant to your identity, relationship status or availability.

You must treat me and people introduced through The Golden Path with reasonable respect.

Harassment, threatening behaviour, discriminatory abuse, deliberate deception, fraud or conduct that reasonably gives rise to serious safety concerns may result in your participation being suspended or ended.

Where practicable and appropriate, I will explain the reason for ending a paid service.

13. Safety

I take reasonable steps to operate The Golden Path responsibly, including personal conversations and identity verification where appropriate.

However, I cannot guarantee another person’s character, behaviour, intentions or future actions.

An introduction from The Golden Path should not replace your own judgement.

You decide whether to communicate with somebody, whether to meet them, where to meet and whether to continue seeing them.

For an initial meeting, I strongly recommend taking the same sensible precautions you would when meeting any new person, including meeting in a public place and letting somebody you trust know where you are.

14. After an introduction

My role is to create the opportunity for two people to meet.

What happens after an introduction is primarily a matter between the two people involved.

I may provide feedback, perspective or personal guidance where appropriate, particularly as part of Dedicated Search, but I am not responsible for managing or mediating a relationship between people I have introduced.

You should contact me if something occurs that you reasonably believe I should know for the safety or integrity of The Golden Path.

15. Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with The Golden Path Privacy Notice, which is available on this website.

The Little Black Book is private and paying clients do not receive access to it.

Information about another person will only be shared as appropriate for considering or making an introduction and subject to privacy and consent considerations.

16. Changes to prices or services

The Golden Path is a developing service and the services and prices offered to new clients may change over time.

If I propose a change that affects the price or material terms of an existing paid client’s future service, I will tell them before the change takes effect.

A price change will not be applied retrospectively to a period that has already been paid for.

You will be free not to continue into a future monthly period if you do not wish to accept a proposed change.

17. Pausing or ending a service

You may stop using The Golden Path in accordance with the cancellation provisions above.

I may also pause or end a service where there is a reasonable reason to do so, including serious or repeated breaches of these terms, non-payment, deliberate dishonesty, inappropriate conduct, safety concerns or circumstances that mean I can no longer reasonably provide the service.

Where a paid service is ended by me for reasons unrelated to your breach or conduct, I will deal fairly with any payment covering services that have not yet been provided, including providing an appropriate refund where required.

18. My responsibility to you

I will provide paid Golden Path services with reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or restricts any rights or remedies you have under applicable consumer law.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

The Golden Path cannot guarantee the behaviour of another person, the success of an introduction or the development of any particular personal relationship.

19. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of The Golden Path, please contact me directly so that I have an opportunity to understand the issue and try to resolve it fairly.

20. Changes to these terms

I may update these Terms and Conditions as The Golden Path develops or where legal or operational requirements change.

The latest version will be published on this website.

Changes will not remove rights that have already arisen under an existing contract and material changes affecting an existing paid service will be brought to the client’s attention where appropriate.

21. Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of the United Kingdom.

Nothing in these terms prevents you from relying on any mandatory consumer protections or rights relating to jurisdiction that apply to you.
