Between Worlds

There are moments when we find ourselves somewhere between where we have been and where we are going.

A familiar room. A quiet chair. A shaft of light entering from somewhere beyond the picture.

She sits without urgency, neither arriving nor leaving, caught in that strange space where time seems to pause and the outside world becomes distant. We don’t know who she is waiting for, what has just happened, or what decision might come next.

Perhaps she doesn’t know either.

Between Worlds is a painting about those quiet thresholds in life, the moments when one chapter has ended, but the next has not quite begun.

Sometimes all we can do is sit in the half-light and wait for the way forward to reveal itself.
